Mawei Economic Development Zone
Mawei Economic Development Zone is located on the north banks of the Min River in Fuzhou. Mawei Fuzhou Free Trade Zone (FFTZ) occupies an area of 1.8 sq km in Mawei.It was set up by the Chinese government in 1992, as an area for special investment and was granted favorable trading privileges. The Fuzhou Bonded Zone (FBZ) is also located in Mawei.
Luoxing Tower, is a lighthouse that was first built during the Song dynasty (960-1279AD) and rises 32 meters (104ft) above the district. From the top of the lighthouse there are excellent views of the Min River and the FFTZ and the FBZ.
